Operation Varlet

Missing Trader (MTIC) Fraud estimated to have cost the revenue between £1.12 and £1.9 billion in lost VAT. The investigation involved the purported purchase of large consignments of mobile telephones, originating in other EU member states. We represented a suspected 'missing trader' in this case where ultimately no further action was taken and our client was not prosecuted.
